Jordi Janer
co-founder and director of Voctro Labs
Audio technologist with over 15 years of experience in research and innovation activities. He is co-founder and current director of Voctro Labs, a company working on artificial voice generation for creative media. Jordi Janer, (M) (Barcelona, 1975). Graduated in Electronic Engineering (2000), he worked as DSP engineer at Creamware GmbH, (Germany, 2000-2003), designing and developing audio effects and virtual synthesizers. He joins later the Music Technology Group of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (MTG-UPF) in Barcelona, where he obtained the PhD degree in His academic experience includes short stays as visiting researcher at McGill University (Canada, 2005) and at Northwestern University (USA, 2009). His activity as a researcher and project manager involved various public-funded research projects (2004-2016), and industrial joint-research collaborations with Yamaha Corp. (Japan), in areas such as voice analysis and source signal separation. He manages the Voctro Labs since 2011,releasing and licensing worldwide the Voiceful products (www.voiceful.io) and obtaining competitive innovation grants.
