Following the success reaped from the previous edition, held in the Cúpula de las Arenas, Gamelab returns to Barcelona with the most ambitious activity programme in its eight year history..

From the 27th June to the 1st July 2012, Gamelab will reunite the main international creators and gurus in Hall 1 of the Fira de Barcelona to analyze the latest creative, technological and business trends of the moment, and try to predict how the very near future of digital entertainment will be and how we will live in it..

The eighth edition of the fair, which for the first time is extending its activities over the weekend as well, is expected to be attended by over 2500 professionals, 180 companies, 250 media reporters and 30,000 consumers.

Some of the most important new features include:

• The expansion of the exhibition area, in which for the first time the latest products presented at the Los Angeles E3 by the main international brands can be seen and tested.
• An area dedicated specifically to training, where the visitor can enjoy talks and workshops which serve as an introduction to the videogaming world and find all academic material offered by the main universities and private centres.
• A shopping area in which to buy all types of products related to videogames and digital culture.
• The creation of new international award categories, such as the best international game, the best European game or the best Ibero-American game.
