The Awards of the Spanish Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences
The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences is a non-profit institution, made up of professionals from Spain's Videogame sector.
The main objective of the Academy is to protect the interests of the videogame cultural sector in Spain, acting as a provider of both information and dialogue with all of the people at national and international level who may promote its development: private companies, public institutions, training and research centres, media, etc.
The Awards of the Spanish Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, traditionally presented during the Gamelab fair, are the greatest recognition to the dedication and results of Spanish companies and professionals in the sector over the last year and they offer the general public and media a reliable way of measuring the success of our industry.
The presentation gala of these awards, in which the sector's companies and professionals participate on a mass basis, is one of the main cultural events in Spain.
The statuette presented to the winners is a version sculpted by the legendary animation studio "Nikodemo" of "La Pulga", the first main character of a Spanish videogame, published in 1983.
As well as numerous professionals from our country, the career of international figures from the videogame world, such as Peter Monyneux or the Japanese Hideo Kojima, have also been given recognition in this gala.
